Game Point Set Up

To start setting up gamification in Eventfinity, we'll first need to set up game points. Go to Content > Gamification

For each "game", you can have several point types. For example, I can set up a game called "Trivia Contest", and within that game, have several different point-earning structures. I can have one slug for the General Knowledge section of my Trivia Contest, that will earn 2 points per correct question, and then another slug for Math that will earn 5 points per correct question, and then another slug for Bonus Questions that earns 10 points per correct question.

You could also choose to split up these 3 sections into their own "games" entirely. One option may not be better than the other, but may depend on the games that will be linked to these points and how you want to set up your leaderboard.

To create a new game, enter a name for your game in the text box and click + New Game

Go into edit. Your new game will have a default slug, general_#, where the # will be the game ID number. You can choose to leave this as the only point type in this game, or you can also create new point types to group certain points under the same game.

Slug: name of the game slug, that will be used as an identifier within this game (required)

Value: the number of points attendees will earn for correct answers (required)

Max points per attendee: the point limit for this game. For example, if a given attendee can only earn a max of 100 points for this point type, you'd enter 100 here

Description: purely used as optional notes for yourself on what this game point is for or linked to
